Addressing the two-day Brihad Karobari (extended executive) of the Gujarat BJP at Sarangpur in Botad district, Piyush Goyal highlighted the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections.
Echoing what the Prime Minister said in Rajya Sabha two days ago, Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, took a swipe at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and “his friends” over their claim of this being “a one-third government” when he said Friday that the Modi government has completed 10 years and has 20 more years to serve the country.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi without naming him, Goyal said, “Aage chalkar BJP aur apna vistar karegi… Ab isko balak buddhi aur unke mitra-bandhu ek tihai sarkar kehte hain. Aur bada sahi kehte hain. Kyunki 10 varsh poore huye hain. Ek tihai, PM Modiji ka term, abhi poora hua hai. Unhe 20 varsh aur desh ki seva karni hai (BJP is going to expand further. Now, balak buddhi and his friends are calling it a one-third government. They are correct. Because 10 years have been completed. One-third of PM Modiji’s term has been completed. He has to serve the country for 20 more years),” he said.
In Rajya Sabha Wednesday, the Prime Minister, responding to the Congress jibe of “one-third government”, said his government had completed 10 years and had 20 more years to go.
Goyal said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the country will develop further while the “parasite” Congress will go back further.
