Belgian club bank on Promise David to be ‘New Victor Boniface’

thetalk.ng 2 days ago

Belgian club Union St.Gilloise will hope new signing Promise David is as successful with them as another Nigerian striker Victor Boniface was.

The 22-year-old David signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year.

Victor Boniface signed for Union from Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt and within one season made a major transfer to Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.

Promise David has also shone in the Estonian Premium Liiga, where he scored 14 goals in 16 appearances for Kalju FC to get the attention of the Belgian club.

David’s journey to Union Saint-Gilloise began from humble beginnings in the Maltese league, moving through Estonia, and now landing in Belgium.

His consistent performance and goal-scoring prowess made him a standout player in the Premium Liiga.

‘Tobi’ is now set to make his mark in the Belgian Pro League as he follows in the footsteps of Victor Boniface.

He has also represented Nigeria at the U23 level, earning his place in the team under coach Salisu Yusuf.
