A 36-year-old man has been apprehended after allegedly attempting to steal his female employer’s car in Lagos state.

The suspect was said to have dropped her off at Tejuosho Market, Yaba and drove off with the vehicle, such that when the woman was done shopping she could neither him nor the car.

Spokesperson of the Lagos Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the driver to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday.

Hundeyin said that the complainant, whose identity he did not disclose, reported the theft of the car, a Lexus ES 350 with Reg. No., EXY 950 FZ, including her laptop, at the command at about 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

He disclosed operatives of the force immediately swung into action and launched a manhunt for the suspect, and he was nabbed around Shubiri Road, Ojo area of the state.

According to him, the car was also recovered. He added that when investigation is complete, the unnamed driver will be charged to court.
