10 Cars Getting A New Face In 2025

A facelift can make or break the popularity of a car, reviving a tired old look to bring a model into the present. As trends come and go and new technological innovations arrive on the market, automakers bring in updates to their existing models to make sure they always look and feel as modern as possible. And it’s not just about design: some models will be receiving performance and tech updates this year as well, with new powertrains, state-of-the-art infotainment systems, and comfortable interiors fit for the future. Here are 10 models that will be sporting a fresh look for the 2025 model year.

1 Honda Civic

The facelifted Honda Civic has arrived on the market with a number of mechanical and design updates. The biggest change is a new hybrid powertrain: a 2.0-liter inline-four engine is paired with two electric motors for a combined power output of 200 hp. A non-hybrid powertrain option is still available in the form of a 2.0-liter engine producing 158 hp. The Civic also gets a refreshed style, with a redesigned grill and reworked front end. Some styling cues are reserved for hybrid models, including a new front spoiler and body-color side struts. Some of the new paint choices available, including Urban Gray Pearl and Solar Silver metallic, are also only available on hybrid trims.

2 Buick Enclave

2025 is proving to be a bad year for die-hard fans of V6 engines, with the Toyota Camry ditching its V6 option and the Buick Enclave following suit. Buick’s three-row family SUV is now powered by a 2.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 328 hp (an increase of 18 hp compared to the naturally aspirated V6). It also gets a substantial increase in torque (326 lb/ft, against the 2024 model’s 266); this, however, does not have a positive effect on its towing capacity, which remains at 5,000 lbs. The Enclave’s design also gets an overhaul, with larger dimensions on every metric, a restyled grille, and a panoramic sunroof as standard.

3 BMW 4 Series

The BMW 4 Series has received a mid-life cycle refresh for 2025; the changes may not be major ones, but they still breathe new life into the model with both mechanical and design updates. The LED headlights have been redesigned with a sleek, arrow-like shape; the taillights now create a three-dimensional graphic effect. The controversial kidney grille is still there, but has been given an update with a new mesh structure and a high-gloss finish in the M440i. On the powertrain front, a mild hybrid system has been added to boost the engine’s efficiency; this leaves the 430i’s power output unchanged at 255 hp but boosts the M440i’s output to 386 hp.

4 BMW M3

The BMW M3 is following in the footsteps of the M4 for 2025, with a facelift bringing about several powertrain and tech updates. The xDrive AWD Competition model gets a power boost, with an output of 523 hp. Meanwhile, on the design front, the updates are not major ones, but enough to give the M3 a subtle refreshed look. The daytime running lights and turn signals are now arrow-shaped for a sharper look; both low and high beams are condensed into a single lighting module. A new bright silver wheel option has been made available, and the Competition models get an updated badge with a silver border. The M3’s infotainment system is now powered by BMW’s iDrive 8.5 system.

5 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

While the 2024 S-Class has already received some subtle updates, including a new infotainment interface and new choices of paint colors, the 2025 model is getting a design-focused revamp to keep its looks modern and fresh. While waiting for the official reveal, some changes have already been spotted in spy shots and confirmed by anonymous sources. The front and rear fascias will receive the biggest updates, including new lighting, while the interior is predicted to get a new steering wheel and likely some updates to the MBUX infotainment system. If you are thinking about an S-Class as your next set of wheels, keep your eyes peeled for what’s to come.

6 Hyundai Tucson

The Tucson already sported a modern, stylish look, so the design updates it received for 2025 are quite subtle, just enough to keep it fresh and competitive in an increasingly crowded market. The front is more angular and full of sharp lines, upping the front bumper’s aggressiveness and updating the headlights with squared-out edges. There are no changes to the powertrain lineup, with the same ICE, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options available on last year’s model. The most apparent changes are visible in the interior, where the infotainment touchscreen and digital gauge cluster have been combined into a single display (in the higher-level trims only). The steering wheel and center console have been given a makeover as well.

7 Kia EV6

The facelifted Kia EV6 was revealed a few weeks ago, with a new battery and some design updates. While power and torque outputs remain the same, the EV6’s driving range has gone up to 307 miles as the battery pack has been upgraded (it’s now equipped with an 84 kWh battery instead of the outgoing model’s 77.4 kWh battery). On the styling front, the EV6 receives some subtle updates that bring it in line with the design of other members of the Kia lineup. The headlights are new, with a sharper profile, and the light bar in the rear is now simpler and sleeker. The rear bumper has been redesigned with gloss black inserts, and some new choices of 19- and 20-inch wheels have been introduced.

8 Nissan Kicks

The updated Nissan Kicks builds on the previous model’s character as a compact, practical crossover, adding ground clearance and extra cabin space. It also comes with a small boost in power output: while last year’s Kicks had a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 122 hp, this year’s model gets a 2.0-liter, bringing the output up to 141 hp. All three trim levels (S, SV, and SR) are now available in an all-wheel-drive configuration; AWD models also get a dedicated “Snow” driving mode that maximizes traction. The Kicks also gets an upgrade on the tech front, with an updated infotainment system and a six-speaker sound system in the top-level SR trim.

9 Subaru Forester

The sixth generation of the Subaru Forester has landed with improved ride quality, a revamped design, and updated tech. The powertrain remains the same as last year, losing two horses along the way (180 against the 2024 model’s 182): a 2.5-liter Boxer four-cylinder engine is paired with a CVT, although the higher-level trims also have a manual mode with paddle shifters for additional driver engagement. The Forester’s new aesthetic combines smoothness and ruggedness, creating a futuristic design that still looks like it wouldn’t shy away from tackling all types of terrain. The LED headlights and the updated grille are both new, as are the sleek, flowing taillights and hands-free power rear gate.

10 Chevrolet Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox is the second most popular Chevrolet model among American buyers, after the iconic Silverado truck. The Equinox has received an update for the 2025 model year, the last SUV model in Chevy’s lineup to do so. The engine remains near-identical, with the same power output as last year’s model (175 hp) and a slight increase in torque. A new eight-speed transmission is available on AWD models, while the FWD variant gets a CVT. The crossover’s looks have been updated, with more aggressive lines and angular wheel arches; there is also a brand new, outdoor-oriented trim called the Activ, which gets off-road styling cues such as a unique front fascia and all-weather tires.
