Cyprus Police Team Responding To Auto Crash Report Hits Pedestrian Crossing Road

A pedestrian was knocked down by the Cyprus Police vehicle in Yesilköy, an area affiliated with Karpaz on Friday.

The incident was captured by nearby CCTV cameras and shared on social media by a citizen, CyprusNew24/7, an English news page on social media.
A footage posted on the news page shows how the police hit a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road.
Additionally, the video shows that there was a confrontation between the police and some citizens who rushed to assist the injured pedestrian.
It was learnt that the police team was on its way to the scene of a road accident in Yeşilköy, when their vehicle hit the pedestrian.
The police later said the pedestrian Teyfur Kaya, who was injured as a result of the accident, was discharged from the Famagusta State Hospital after treatment.
They promised to investigate the incident.
