Nizamabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over death of former APCC president D. Srinivas. They sent condolence messages to Srinivas’ wife D Vijayalakshmi and Arvind Dharmapuri, their son and Nizamabad MP.

Modi said that Srinivas was widely respected across the political spectrum. His rich and vast experience in public life coupled with his capacity for hard work made him a true peoples' representative, Modi said.

Rahul Gandhi said that they had lost a tall leader who left an indelible mark in politics. His remarkable contribution to the Congress in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would be remembered, he said. Srinivas' leadership and organisation skills helped the Congress party win a resounding mandate, he said.

Most importantly, his humility won him the love and respect of people across party lines, he said. Srinivas legacy will continue to inspire us, Rahul Gandhi said in a condolence message sent to Arvind.
