Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has sanctioned over 1.6 billion naira for the construction and equipping of a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit at General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital.

The decision emerged during the 6th Regular Executive Council Meeting held on Friday.

State Health Commissioner Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa disclosed that a reputable construction firm has been awarded the contract, with an expected completion time of six months.

The new unit is set to produce Vitamin B and C syrups and magnesium silicate in its initial phase. Plans for future expansion include the production of tablets.
