FG Warns Developers Of 250 Housing Units In Osun

Minister of housing and urban development,  Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has threatened to drag to court any developer who engaged in substandard work in its ongoing development of renewed hope estates across the country.

The minister who spoke at the groundbreaking of 250-housing units in Osogbo, Osun State yesterday stated that the government will explore all necessary legal means, to ensure that developers deliver as per the contract.

“We also want the developers to adhere to the timeline and finish within three months so that we can begin the process of getting Osun indigenes to purchase and move in ” he said.

Dangiwa disclosed that the prompt response of the Osun State government to the federal government’s request for land at no cost has helped to reduce as much as 30% of the cost of the units in the estate for the benefit of potential homeowners.

The minister said Osun  is one of the benefitting states in the second phase of a total of 2,000 Renewed Hope Housing Units across eight states in the South and North Central parts of the country.

“Today’s ceremony is a continuation of the nationwide groundbreaking exercise for housing projects under the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development”,

“We have designed these housing units in a way that makes them affordable for people to acquire by using organic designs to allow for future expansion as the income of beneficiaries increases”, Dangiwa posited.

Also, Governor Ademola Adeleke who was represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi commended the federal government for considering Osun among early beneficiaries of the laudable project despite political differences.
