Richie Anderson, the 36 year old BBC Radio 2 presenter known for his travel news segments, has seen his fame skyrocket in recent years.

His stint on Strictly Come Dancing and his recent addition to the Celebrity Gogglebox cast have only added to his growing celebrity status. In addition to his radio work, Richie occasionally appears on The One Show, reporting on a variety of topics.

He was also part of the team that covered the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool last year. Now, he’s joined Paralympian Ellie Simmonds on the celebrity edition of Gogglebox. One constant supporter cheering Richie on is his partner, Dean Eagles. Let’s delve into their relationship….

Richie and Dean have been together for over 11 years. While Richie is a familiar face in the entertainment industry, his boyfriend prefers to stay out of the limelight, and not much is known about him. Dean occasionally pops up on Richie’s social media accounts, with the couple sharing selfies from their fun-filled holidays and outings.

They celebrated their 10-year anniversary in December 2022, shortly after Richie’s time on Strictly Come Dancing ended. The couple marked their relationship milestone with a cruise trip to Europe. Likely due to Richie’s upcoming work commitments, they decided to celebrate their anniversary early, in July 2022.

“The most special (early*) 10-year anniversary celebrations with my @deanoeagles,” a besotted Richie wrote at the time. “Our first ever cruise and what a way to do it on the beautiful @celebritycruisesuk we even got a selfie with the main man himself @travelwithcaptaintasos.”

Dean was the one who pushed Richie to join BBC’s Strictly, believing it to be an amazing chance to honour their decade together and embrace Pride. On the dance show, Richie partnered with Giovanni Pernice, one of the professional male dancers. “When I spoke to my other half Dean, it was our 10-year anniversary, and he was like ‘you have to [do it]’,” Richie reflected on his decision to join Strictly. “And it’s the 50th anniversary of Pride in the UK. It would be such a proud moment to be dancing with a male pro.”

Alas, Richie’s adventure on Strictly was shorter than hoped, as he and Giovanni faced elimination in just the second week. They performed an energetic samba to ‘Hakuna Matata’ from the iconic Disney film; however, they didn’t quite charm the judges enough, leading them to save Fleur East and Vito Coppola instead.
