Sport Bild reports that on loan RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons is leaning towards staying at the club for another season instead of returning to PSG or moving to Bayern Munich.

Leipzig would like to sign Simons on a permanent deal but PSG do not want to sell the Dutch international this summer as the previous club PSV would get a portion of the transfer fee. This means an agreement would have to be reached that is a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy.

However, Leipzig will likely not want to pay more than €60m for Simons, which would break their transfer record of €40m. Due to all these complications, reaching an agreement becomes a hurdle.

If Leipzig are unable to reach an agreement with PSG, Bayern Munich would enter the fray as they can pay more due to being financially stronger.

In his first season at Leipzig, scored eight and got 11 assists as they qualified for the Champions League. If Leipzig are able to keep Simons on top of already keeping Benjamin Sesko this summer, the club could be in a good place to challenge the likes of Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen next season.
