Olusola Oke, one of the aggrieved aspirants for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, has raised concerns about the validity of the party’s recent governorship primary election. Oke expressed his belief that the primary, held last Saturday, was invalid due to the participation of the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who he claims was legally restrained from carrying out his duties during the election.

In a petition submitted to the appeal panel through his legal representatives, Oke argued that the primary election should be considered null and void as it was organized, overseen, and supervised by Ganduje in direct violation of a valid and binding court order from the Kano State High Court.

Oke highlighted several irregularities in the conduct of the primary, including the lack of a verified membership register, failure to assign electoral personnel to designated locations, and the generation of results without the actual conduct of elections. He emphasized that the outcome of the primary did not adhere to the regulations outlined in the law, the APC Constitution, and the Nomination Guidelines.

In light of these concerns, Oke called for the nullification of the primary election and urged the appeal panel to recommend or direct a fresh primary to be conducted in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines. He emphasized the importance of conducting a fair and transparent election process to uphold the integrity of the party’s nomination process in Ondo State.
