Osimhen’s plan ‘still to leave Napoli this summer’ — Romano

Guardian Nigeria 2 days ago

Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, is still planning to leave Napoli before the end of the ongoing summer transfer window.

This is according to Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who on Monday said that Osimhen’s exit from Napoli will happen soon.

“Victor Osimhen’s plan is still to leave Napoli this summer as his movement is expected soon,” Romano wrote on his X handle.

“After a quiet June, Napoli expect proposals to arrive for Osimhen as he could be on the move. The release clause is around €120m.”

Romano added that the Super Eagles striker has a preference for the Premier League but his options are still open.

The story of Osimhen, as regards his transfer, is becoming unpredictable with each passing day.

After signing a new contract at Napoli in December, the club’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis revealed that Osimhen would leave this summer.

De Laurentiis, however, put a new release clause said to be worth €130m in the 25-year-old’s new contract.

Reports had earlier emerged that the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal were eager to sign him.

However, none of those clubs has made an offer for Osimhen, a development which Napoli is worried about.

The Partenopei’s new manager, Antonio Conte, during his unveiling last week nevertheless said the club will honour the agreement for Osimhen to leave this summer.
