A startling number of UFO sightings started being reported from 9 pm on July 13 1993

July 13, 1993, was just a day like any other, but when day turned to night in the midwest US state of Indiana, a flash wave of 'UFO sightings' were reported – and the peculiar events remain unexplained to this day.

The evening of chaos began when shortly after after 9pm a 35-year-old woman, joined by her two children and mother, were brought to an abrupt halt on their drive after spotting something out of the ordinary.

Parking up near a railway line, they watched a UFO as it hovered at an approximate 25ft in the air, noting red and orange lights beaming out of it.

They stood directly underneath the aircraft, watching as it silently moved off, heading west.

Most witnesses reported the flying objects having red or orange lights beaming out

Around 20 minutes later, after arriving back home, the family's night was about to get even peculiar. The same aircraft descended upon the night sky again, causing their four dogs to bark ferociously at what they were seeing.

Roughly half an hour later, after many more sightings had been reported, two police officers on patrol were next to witness the unusual object fly above them.

While walking past a local school in Ligonier, the officers noticed red lights coming from a flying object above them and despite initially thinking it was just an aircraft, the pair were left puzzled.

The sightings abruptly ended at approximately 10.30 pm

Deciding to investigate further they followed it until it eventually disappeared behind some trees – and to this day have refused to talk to UFO investigators regarding their mysterious sighting.

With some similar sightings to follow, at approximately 10.30 pm they stopped and speculation has ensued ever since to what and exactly why so many people witnessed UFO's that night.

It wasn't until local residents read the newspapers the morning after that they realised they hadn't been the only ones to witness the strange goings on.
