All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Izzi Yakiah, has expressed confidence that the Court of Appeal will rule in favour of the 2023 APC candidate in the Bayelsa State governorship election, Chief Timipre Sylva.

Yakiah, who is also the national president of the Niger Delta Media Activist Group, said 12 years after Sylva left office as Bayelsa State governor, his record of achievements has been unmatched by successive administrations.

He said, “It is no longer a news that Chief Timipre Sylva’s uncut loyalty and support for His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu will no doubt engender and attract unprecedented development to the State if and when the Supreme Court favours APC in Bayelsa State.

“Currently the case is in the Federal Court of Appeal where sitting was adjourned till Tuesday 2nd July 2024 on the 27th June 2024.

“By critically analyzing the judicial precedence, landmark judgement of the Supreme Court and the merits and facts of the case before the appeal court, there is clear light at the end of the tunnel.”

Yakiah added that an opinion poll conducted by his organization across the 105 political wards and 8 LGA in Bayelsa State, indicated that power supply and portable drinking water was not what the people prayed for during Sylva’s administration.

“But today, the reverse is the case. The people have prayed and decried their poor condition. Yet the present government pays deaf ears to their woes and concerns.”

He said Sylva, whom he described as the APC leader in Bayelsa State, has resolved to tackle Bayelsa’s failed economy with total aggression through the implementation of his Six-point agenda (the HIGAPS).

Stressing that Sylva’s political prowess and pedigree in Bayelsa State cannot be forgotten in a hurry, he said “the people now refer to H.E Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva’s administration as good old days drawing reference from his efficient healthcare service delivery, acquisition, reconstruction and infrastructural development of mass housing estate, enactment of people-oriented policies e.g workers friendly policy, payment of bursary, pilgrimage sponsorship, recruitment and payment of volunteers etc.”

He said Sylva’s administration made a landmark achievement in tourism, power, human capital development, infrastructure, industrialisation, agriculture, education, health etc.

He said the Bayelsa people have realised now more than ever before that “Sylva is a special breed of leader who stands out among the pool of politicians in Bayelsa State and beyond.”

He added that “the continuous rise in underdevelopment, hunger, poverty, malnutrition and unemployment in Bayelsa State only indicate and confirm clearly that the prosperity administration of Senator Douye Diri is nothing more than a product of error from the Supreme Court which shall be corrected by the same court process.”
