A former Premier League champion is training with non-league Aldershot Town while he waits to find a new club.

Asmir Begovic claimed a Premier League winners medal with Chelsea in the 2016-17 season and also played for the likes of Everton, Stoke and Portsmouth.

He is currently a free agent after his contract with Queens Park Rangers expired last summer.

Aldershot Town shared photos of the 37-year-old goalkeeper in their gear at their training session on Wednesday.

The club tweeted 'one of England's finest goalkeeping imports having a chat with Asmir Begovic' with a wink emoji alongside a picture of Begoivc chatting to keeper Jordi van Stappershoef.

'It was great to welcome @asmir1 to training yesterday as he looks to keep fit and sharp this summer'

Begovic made 63 appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina, helping them reach the 2014 World Cup and playing all three matches in Brazil.

His presence at Aldershot is reportedly down to a close relationship with the club's goalkeeping coach David Smalley.
