KUST Admission Requirements

This is to inform the general public, especially the aspirants of the Kano University of Science & Technology, that the authority of the school has released the admission requirements for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Below are the requirements for candidates who wish to gain admission into KUST through JAMB (UTME):

1. Candidates must have reached the age of 16.

2. A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.

3. You must choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course. Check JAMB Brochure!

4. Candidates must score at least 180 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination to be offered admission into the Kano University of Science & Technology.

5. You must participate in KUST POST UTME/SCREENING to be considered for admission if any for the year.

Additional requirements might apply for some programmes and these can be viewed after selecting the Programme and entry level at the school website when you are about to obtain the post UTME form.

KUST Admission Requirements For Direct Entry (DE)

Below are the requirements for candidates who wish to gain admission into Kano University of Science & Technology (KUST) through Direct Entry:

1. A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.

2. Candidates must have ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in two subjects that are related to their area of study.

3. JUPEB/A’ Level passes in related subjects.

4. Degree (First Class/Second Class Upper) in related fields for your course of choice.

5 Direct entry candidates are required to purchase the KUST Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and KUST Portal.

6. A minimum of Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND) and other Advanced Level Certificates.

Additional requirements might apply for some programmes, and these can be viewed after selecting the programme and entry level on the school website when you are about to obtain the post UTME form.

Steps for Applying

If you want to get admission, you need to do the following:

1. You can either buy the college’s application form from the admissions office or get it from the website. Carefully read and fill out the form.

2. Attach printouts of your IDs, such as your birth certificate, WAEC or NECO results, proof of where you live, etc., to the form you’ve filled out.

3. Before the due date, bring the completed admission form along with the necessary papers to the admissions office. Applications that are too late will not be looked at.

4. Check the website or notice board of the admissions office or the admissions list to see if you were given provisional admission.

5. You have until the due date to accept the offer of entry on the college’s website or in person at the admissions office. If you do not accept by the limit, you will lose your chance to be admitted.

6. When school starts up again, go to the college for screening and registration. Bring the original copies of the papers that are attached to your admission form so that they can be checked.
