The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Opeyemi Ogungbo, has urged ministries, departments, and agencies to continue to support the end-to-end automation drive of their revenue processes.

Ogungbo gave the charge at a review session of ‘Project Zeal’, which was designed to review and optimise the Lagos State revenue processes, handled by O&M Consultants.

The review session was organised for non-tax revenue-generating MDAs, which had in attendance the leadership of the MDAs and some of the state government’s executive members.

The Project Zeal session appraised the progress made, milestones achieved and the impact on the state-generated revenue vis-à-vis the targets.

Ogungbo urged MDAs not to relent “in supporting the end-to-end automation drive of the state government”.

He also advised them to aim to exceed the 2024 state budget of about N2.27tn.

On their part, the leadership of the non-tax revenue-generating MDAs reiterated its commitment to support the goal of achieving full automation for their revenue processes and meeting the 2024 revenue target.

The MDAs representatives at the session included: the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit, Lands Bureau, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, Vehicle Inspection Services, Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Examination Board, State Treasury Office, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, and others.

The O&M Consultants is partnering with the office of Special Adviser, Taxation and Revenue, to deliver project zeal with a focus on the following objectives; eliminate siloing, fully adoption of harmonised billing, operationalised centralised payment, expand payment channels, promote self-service to support the state government ease of doing the business goal.
