JUST IN: Barack Obama Speaks Out, Says ‘We Should All Be Relieved’ Trump ‘Wasn’t Seriously Hurt’

Former President Barack Obama issued a statement on the shooting of his predecessor Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. The former president and presumptive nominee for the 2024 race was wounded but in good condition, according to the Secret Service.

Obama issued a statement to Mediaite: “There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.”

Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung, said in a statement the former president is “fine.”

“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow,” Cheung said.
