New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday launched a major attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal over a money-laundering case. Pointing out that the entire scam was a conspiracy, the party said that while the investigation has been going on for the last two years no concrete evidence has been found against the Delhi Chief Minister.

‘No proof found against CM’

Addressing a press conference, AAP spokesperson Reena Gupta said that while so many raids have been conducted till now, no proofs yet been found against Kejriwal. She added that testimonies were taken from the witnesses after threatening them. Apart from this, when the same witnesses said that Arvind Kejriwal is innocent, their statements were kept in unreliable documents. “They are afraid of Arvind Kejriwal. They cannot defeat him in the elections, that’s why efforts are being made to keep him in jail,” Gupta added further.

Speaking further, the AAP spokesperson added, “In its decision, the trial court said that there is no money trail in Kejriwal’s case. Getting bail in ED case means that Kejriwal is innocent. However, the ED went to Delhi High Court to get a stay without a copy of the court order. Arvind Kejriwal will not bow down. He will be released from jail soon.” Referring to Satendra Jain case, Gupta pointed out that this is a new conspiracy, even as conspiracies are already going on against the chief minister.

Accusations against CBI

“ When Prime Minister Modi felt that Kejriwal was getting relief in ED case, the CBI was activated. The agency had earlier called Arvind Kejriwal for 14 months. He went and then after remaining silent for close 14 months, the CM was arrested,” she added further.
