The Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde has constituted committees to review the judgment of the Supreme Court granting Financial Autonomy to Local Governments and provide feedback within four weeks.

The Commissioner for Local government Ademola Ojo made this known shortly after an emergency meeting with the governor in Ibadan.

Mr. Ojo further explained that two key committees – a legal committee and a technical committee – have been established to examine the implications of the autonomy and address any potential issues that may arise.

In his words, the Attorney General of Oyo state, Abiodun Aikomo says the committees will draw plans that will make considerations for the interest of the people and their welfare.
