Victor Osimhen has been the big problem for Napoli thus far this summer. While signing an extension last summer, the player and the club agreed that he would leave during the current transfer window, but the market has been extremely slow thus far.

Their positions remain unchanged. During his presentation, Antonio Conte reaffirmed it, saying he was unable to stop the star from leaving.

There is a €120 million release clause in his contract. Neither side has even remotely activated it.

Osimhen would rather be in the Premier League than anywhere else. Early in the window, he was connected to Chelsea.

Napoli would have preferred a partial trade for Romelu Lukaku, but the Blues have other ideas. Though they are more focused in his colleague Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, PSG is also a contender. Right now, Saudi Arabia is only a backup plan.

If they are unable to get Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United may become a viable option. Even if they just bought Rasmus Hojlund for €74 million from Atalanta a year ago, they could still hold onto him.

Though it’s unlikely that either party anticipated a speedy resolution, there’s still time to be calm because the striker domino effect won’t begin until after the Euros, reports Cult Of Calcio.

The first issue is that there are relatively few clubs that can pay him. To find an appropriate solution, the Partenopei and maybe even the striker will have to significantly scale back their demands.
