Real Madrid No Longer Searching For New Left-Back Following Davies Snub

Real Madrid were reportedly counting on the free-transfer signing of Alphonso Davies ahead of the summer transfer window in 2025.

After all, the 24-year-old Canada international would become a free agent when his contract with Bayern Munich expires at the conclusion of the current campaign.

The left-back is on the verge of renewing his contract with Bayern, therefore Los Blancos will not be signing him, despite numerous claims that a verbal agreement was reached regarding a summer transfer.

In fact, Davies has chosen to extend his contract and stay at the Allianz Arena after the Bavarian giants presented him with a considerable offer, leaving Real Madrid in the dark.

It has now been speculated that Real Madrid may consider former academy star Miguel Gutierrez as a backup plan after word of Davies’ impending renewal surfaced. Given that they had a €8 million buyback clause for the Gutierrez.

However, since Davies has escaped Real Madrid’s grasp, the team are not actively searching for a replacement left-back, according to The Athletic as reported by Madrid Universal.

Since the Bayern Munich speedster would have been a free agent in the summer, the Merengues were only interested in him because they thought he was a market opportunity too excellent to pass up.

However, Real Madrid are no longer looking for a left-back after Davies chose to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga powerhouse.
