Speaking at the International LoveWorld Medical Symposium On Radionuclide Therapy and Oncology, themed: “Evolving Role of Nuclear Medicine and Personalised and Precision Medicine,” organised by the LMC in Oregun, Lagos, at the weekend, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Anthony Oseghale, said that the LMCs mission “is to lead the healthcare industry with holistic, accessible, and best-in-class services.”
Oseghale stated that the LMC’s “commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care through innovation and technology, guided its core values of excellence, teamwork, accountability, compassion and trust.”
“Our brand promise, ‘We will make you happy,’ is a commitment we strive to fulfill with every interaction, as reflected in the positive feedback from our patients,” he added.
“We are very big on giving quality service. So in the last six months, we haven’t been doing any publicity; we just make sure that our processes are excellent, and the patients that we have cared for have been the ones spreading the information about the facilities.
”Today, we are excited to introduce nuclear medicine, opening new opportunities for advanced medical care. The installation and commissioning of our Gamma Camera marks a significant milestone, and we eagerly anticipate the benefits this technology will bring to our patients,” he said.
Oseghale stated that as a multi-specialist hospital, the LMC is “poised to revolutionise the global healthcare landscape. Our foundation is built on the vision of Rev. Chris Oyakhilome and our principles of exceptionalism, expansionism, and perfectionism.
“Thank you, sir, for your vision and dedication to helping all humanity, and for making every individual feel valued. Your efforts have made it possible for us to establish a prestigious institution like the LoveWorld Medical Centre.”
The LMC COO said: “At LoveWorld Medical Center, we view each patient as a whole person, addressing every aspect of their being to achieve optimal health. We also extend our care to the families of our patients, recognising the importance of their support.
“Our unique selling points include our spiritual advantage, with numerous healing miracles taking place at this very location through the ministry of Rev. Chris Oyakhilome. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures quick and accurate diagnoses, and our comprehensive in-house facilities offer all necessary medical services under one roof. We provide affordable, high-quality care, partnering with several HMOs to extend our services to those in need.”
According to Oseghale, LMC’s “dedication to achieving excellent clinical outcomes has earned us referrals from various hospitals, including teaching hospitals in Lagos State.
“The LoveWorld Medical Center boasts of an 80-bed inpatient capacity, with a majority of single rooms ensuring privacy. Our executive wing caters to high-profile patients, and our state-of-the-art facilities include a General Outpatient Department, emergency ambulance services, obstetrics and gynecology, fertility services, pediatrics, minimally invasive surgeries, dialysis services, ICU and HDU, radiology, and top-notch laboratory investigations.”
Executive Chairman, LMC, Dr. Deola Phillips, said that the Multi-Specialist hospital is born out of the vision of the Founder and President of Loveworld Inc., Rev. Chris Oyakhilome.
Phillips said that Oyakhilome’s compassion has been famously expressed through his Healing Ministry, which she confirmed, has also extended the reach to providing avenues of medical care to so many through community clinics and now advanced medical care in the LoveWorld Medical Centre.
She said that in the area of radionuclide therapy, the LMC is poised to make significant strides, adding that the “cutting-edge treatment modality offers renewed hope to patients battling various forms of cancer, harnessing the power of radioactive isotopes to target and destroy cancerous or diseased cells with unprecedented precision.
Dr. Phillips said that at the LMC, a “team of dedicated nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, and medical physicists are on hand to provide clinical services with refined techniques, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients.”
She affirmed that the LMC remains steadfast in its commitment to innovate and expand the capabilities to meet the evolving healthcare needs of its “diverse patient population, ensuring that our community receives comprehensive and compassionate care close to home in line with our mantra ‘Advanced, Trusted, Wholesome, Care.”
She noted that the LMC’s commitment to excellence, coupled with its “relentless pursuit of innovation, has propelled us in our mission to provide world-class healthcare services to our community and beyond.”
Also at the event, Clinical Director, LMC, Dr. Emeka Eze, while stressing the impact on Nigeria health sector, said: “The technology is innovative, it is cost-effective and it is free of side effects.”
According to Dr. Eze: “It targets only damaged cells. If we are treating people with what is known as chemotherapy; you know the kind of side effects because it attacks all fast-growing cells at the same time; but this one only goes for cells that are inflamed, or cells that are mitotic.”
Eze added: “It just goes to the local area where the problem is and deals with it. So much cheaper, fewer side effects, minimal hospital stay, long resolution.”
While affirming that nuclear medicine helps in the treatment of thyroid disease, cancers, arthritis, among other ailments, Dr. Eze added: ”Right now, it has been very well tried with prostate cancer and it’s very, very good. It treats arthritis, knee problems, among others. A lot of Nigerians today, as they are getting to a certain age, there’s a lot of development of arthritis.
”People that are obese are having leg problems. Because of the diet change in Africa now, many Africans are getting obese and having this arthritis as they get to elderly age. So, it is a game-changer for arthritis. That’s very important.”
