Mariah Carey may have a chance with her ex-husband Nick Cannon , but it appears she has a new man in her life – Lenny Kravitz. The musical icons appear to be dating, recent reports suggest.

“There’s definitely chemistry between them,” a source told Life & Style. “They’re both single and they’ve been hanging out a lot lately.”

“They’ve been super close over the years, and they have a lot in common so it’s not surprising that they could have taken their friendship to the next level,” they went on. “Everyone who knows them personally in the music industry is buzzing about it — and wants it to be true!”

As the publication notes, Mariah, 55, and Lenny, 59, share\ a longstanding friendship predating their respective rises to fame. The pair apparently frequented the same New York City sports bar during their early days as aspiring musicians, where they would compare demo tapes.

Their paths continued to intersect over the years, culminating in joint appearances such as their co-starring roles in the 2009 film Precious and their attendance at the Recording Academy Honors in February, where both received accolades.

Both Kravitz and Carey are known for their colorful dating lives. Mariah was previously married to music executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998. Despite their initial connection, the significant age gap and the demands of their respective careers led to their eventual divorce. It’s been alleged the Tommy was abusive and controlling towards Mariah.

Mariah then tied the knot with actor and comedian Nick Cannon in 2008. The couple welcomed twins, Moroccan and Monroe, in 2011, but their marriage ended in divorce in 2016.

On the other hand, Lenny was famously married to actress Lisa Bonet from 1987 to 1993, with whom he shares a daughter, Zoë Kravitz, who has followed in her parents’ footsteps as a successful actress and musician.

Lenny was later romantically linked to several famous women, including Australian actress Nicole Kidman and Brazilian model Adriana Lima. Kidman has even revealed they were engaged in secret at one point.
