2024 Eid-al-Adha: Aims Media sustains annual tradition of celebrating with underserved Nigerians

Several members of underserved communities gathered at the corporate office of prominent media company, Aims Media, in Lagos to celebrate the 2024 Eid-al-Adha.

This sustains the years-long tradition of the media organisation owned by veteran broadcast media personality, Alhaja Aminah Muhammad to host the under privileged to a feast and merriment during the annual Islamic festival.

The underserved groups hosted by Aims Media included people living with disabilities (PLWDs), the poor, the aged, among others.

The historic festival celebrated every tenth day of Dhul Hijjah usually coincides with the annual pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Alhaja Muhammad told Muslim News that the event was specifically designed to celebrate with special groups of people in the society who have been left out in the merriment of Eid-al-Adha.

“Over the years, Aims Media Company Limited has gone in search of such groups, including people with special needs and the underserved to make them feel some sense of belonging and be part of such celebrations,” the statement noted.

The event which brought smiles to the faces of the underserved group held on the third day of Eid-al-Adha, June 18th 2024. It was attended by selfless individuals and families who joined the underserved groups to mark the day.

Aims Media acknowledged the efforts of friends and associates of the organisation who came together to contribute to the success of the event for this year.

Recitation of old national anthem

Major highlights of the programme were creative performances by children, including the physically challenged ones, quiz, games, recreation amid varieties of delicacies and drinks.

The event also had a touch of patriotism as the children entertained the adults with recitation of the reintroduced old national anthem.

In her remarks at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Aims Media Company Limited said she remained thankful to the Almighty Allah for enabling the media firm to sustain the annual event, while also commending partners for their support.

“Our partners rallied round to support the event. I pray Allah to continuously meet them all at points of their needs. Aims Media remains committed to the development and production of different genres of local media contents in line with our mantra of developmental broadcasting,” she said.
