On Friday, April 19, several film stars gathered at the Filmhouse Circle Mall, Lekki for the premiere of Jaiye Kuti’s flick, ‘Blacksmith (Alagbede).’

The premiere had so much razzmatazz with the producer, Jaiye Kuti, arriving at the cinema in a vintage Benz.

From Femi Adebayo to Eniola Ajao, Odunlade Adekola to Iyabo Ojo, Lizzy Anjorin to Dayo Amusa, the red carpet was aglow with the presence of Nollywood’s finest. Also in attendance were Mercy Aigbe, Ojopagogo, Rose Odika, Jide Awobona, Taiwo Ibikunle, Biola Fowosere, Bimbo Oshin, Bose Akinola, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Kemity, Ayo Adesanya, Lukman Raji, Sola Kosoko, Yemi Solade, Antar Laniyan, and Salawa Abeni, among many others.

‘Blacksmith (Alagbede),’ the brainchild of Jaiye Kuti, in collaboration with co-producers Leye Fabusoro and Motunrayo Adeoye, is directed by Ogunlade Usman.

Set against the backdrop of 1970, ‘Blacksmith (Alagbede)’ unfolds the timeless tale of Adio, a humble blacksmith, whose life takes a tumultuous turn when he falls in love with Omotoke, a woman from a privileged background. As Adio endeavours to provide for Omotoke, he delves into risky ventures, leading to strained relationships and the unravelling of truths.
