The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Emmanuel Adebisi, following allegations of misconduct.

The suspension comes amid claims that Adebisi diverted 70 bags of rice intended for distribution to civil society groups during the recent Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a statement released Wednesday evening, the governor’s spokesperson announced that the suspension takes immediate effect.

Governor Adeleke has directed the Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye, to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

According to sources, Adebisi had previously been involved in infractions for which he had reportedly sought forgiveness. The alleged rice diversion appears to be the latest in a series of controversies surrounding the aide.

Meanwhile, Adebisi has denied the allegations and his suspension.

In a Facebook post, he stated, “The claims suggesting that I have been suspended is misleading and untrue. Any insinuation of my involvement in misconduct, particularly relating to the alleged diversion of 70 bags of rice intended for Osun Civil Societies during the Eid-el-Kabir festival, is entirely baseless and without merit and the hand work of some bitter political fools

“I challenge anyone with fact on this to bring it out. I remain an integral part of the Osun Government team and continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service.”
