In an effort to enhance the nation’s electrical grid, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has inaugurated new Siemens mobile substations in Lagos and Birnin Kebbi. These installations are part of a broader collaboration between the Nigerian government and Siemens aimed at improving the country’s power transmission capabilities.

During the inauguration, Adelabu highlighted that these substations, with a combined capacity of 123 megawatts, are crucial for strengthening the electricity supply to both businesses and households. He expressed optimism that this development is a significant step towards achieving consistent and uninterrupted power supply across the regions.

The project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘renewed hope agenda’, which prioritizes the rapid implementation of initiatives designed to revitalize the power sector. Adelabu described the substations as emblematic of this national effort to transform energy infrastructure and enhance economic growth.

Additionally, the Minister called on citizens to protect this vital infrastructure. He stressed that safeguarding these assets from vandalism is essential for the success of the government’s efforts in the power sector, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in preserving national resources. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to resolving Nigeria’s longstanding challenges with power distribution and availability.
