Ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reiterated his party’s commitment to allocate 40 percent of available positions to women To further encourage women’s participation in politics,

Speaking at the July edition of the Government House monthly Covenant Service held at Banquet Hall, Uyo, GovernorEno also announced that forms will be provided free of charge for women

Governor Eno urged stakeholders in various local government areas to field competent and popular aspirants to ensure smooth victories at the polls.

The governor reminded aspirants to conduct necessary checks to ensure they align with zoning arrangements before declaring their candidacy, stressing that no one would be held liable for any misguided electioneering expenditure.

Additionally, Governor Eno announced the inauguration of the State Insurance Agency’s board on July 2, 2024, advising residents to consider health insurance due to rising health challenges for easier access to treatment.

He expressed gratitude to the homilist, Rev. Emem Jacob, the clergy, and all participants in the July Covenant Service, noting that the prayers of the faithful are bringing great things to the state. He assured that the state will continue to pray and depend on God for its greater good.

Rev. Emem Jacob, in his message themed “The journey is too great,” taken from 1 Kings 19:7, emphasized the importance of impacting lives and mentorship, encouraging Christians to live fully and leave the world empty of their potential.
