Kino Lorber Classics is bringing a Stephen King adaptation back into print with the Graveyard Shift 4K UHD release confirmed.

The 4K release of the 1990 horror movie is a brand new HDR/Dolby Vision master from a 4K scan of the original camera negative. There are few details about the release beyond that at this time. However, it is coming fairly soon.

What is Graveyard Shift about?

Graveyard Shift is directed by Ralph S. Singleton, written by John Esposito (The Theatre Bizarre), and is shot by Peter Stein (Pet Sematary). It’s based on a grim short story by Stephen King (Carrie, The Shining).

John Hall is a drifter who wanders into a small town in Maine. He needs a job and decides to seek employment at the community’s top business: a large textile mill. He is hired to work the “graveyard shift” – from around midnight to dawn – and, along with a few others, he is charged with cleaning out the basement. This task strikes the workers as simple enough, but then, as they proceed deeper underground, they encounter an unspeakable monstrosity intent on devouring them all.

The film stars David Andrews Apollo 13, Fight Club), Kelly Wolf (Less Than Zero), Stephen Macht (The Monster Squad), Andrew Divoff (Air Force One, Wishmaster), Vic Polizos (C.H.U.D.), and Brad Dourif (Chucky).

We’ll have more information on the Graveyard Shift 4K release as it comes in.
