England will return to Test cricket later this month as they welcome the West Indies for a three-match series.

Ben Stokes' men haven't played any Test cricket since the tour of India earlier this year, but they are back on home soil and will look to get back to winning ways.

England were beaten 4-1 in Asia but could have easily won the series had certain moments gone their way.

But Stokes and co will be confident of getting their summer off to a great start against the Windies.

England vs West Indies: Squads

England have named their squad for the first two Test of the series and have included Anderson for one final time.

Elsewhere, there are call-ups for two uncapped players in Nottinghamshire bowler Dillon Pennington and Surrey wicket-keeper Jamie Smith.

Smith is set to replace Jonny Bairstow, who has been dropped from the squad after reaching 100 Tests in India.

Gus Atkinson is also still uncapped at Test level but makes the squad, while there are recalls for Matt Potts and Chris Woakes.

Stokes has been bowling for Durham in the County Championship and should be fully fit to contribute with bat and ball.

Meanwhile, the Windies are missing Kemar Roach due to a knee injury.

His absence should give Shamar Joseph the chance to shine in England.

The young fast bowler rose to prominence in the winter when he helped the West Indies beat Australia Down Under with a magnificent spell of bowling, so there will be a lot of eyes on him.

The ECB's managing director, Rob Key, has explained why Bairstow has been dropped for Smith.

He said: "People are never happy when they're dropped, and I never want them to be.

"Jonny just needs to get back to what he was a couple of years ago.

"Generally, his form, in all formats, has just been going slightly in the wrong direction.

"You want him to get back to what he was when Brendon [McCullum] and Ben started out.

"We've been watching Jamie Smith for quite some time. He was on the Lions [tour] a couple of years ago when I watched him out in Sri Lanka, and he looks a rare talent."
