MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two teens and one adult were arrested and charged after a police pursuit on Interstate 240 in a stolen car, police said.

The stolen car was a suspect car in multiple robberies, police said.

On July 5, officers responded to an auto theft at 3251 Central Avenue at Parish LIFE, police said.

Officers were told that a white 2015 Dodge Charger and a 2015 gray Dodge Charger were stolen around the times of 6:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., police said.

According to police, On July 6 at 3:28 p.m., the Mount Moriah Task Force arrived at the Ten Mile Creek Apartments at 2718 Claudette Street where they found a 2015 Dodge Charger.

At a high rate of speed the car fled from the officers, police said.

Officers successfully deployed stop sticks, police said.

According to police, officers began a pursuit on the car that was used in two  robberies shortly before they found the car on Tarry Wood Drive and Tarry Park Drive.

This pursuit led police to the ramp at Interstate 240 and Getwell, but officers said the driver went the wrong way onto the ramp. MPD said that’s when they called off the pursuit.

“I don’t know. It’s ridiculous out here. That’s all I can say,” said Nate Clay who lives near the interstate and drives in the area often. “Just imagine you’re on the interstate and you see a vehicle coming toward you in the wrong direction.”

Additional officers in the area watched the Charger exit the interstate on Getwell Road, police said.

According to police, the driver side-swiped another car. Five suspects jumped out of the vehicle, but the pursuit would end with all suspects in custody.

“I’m pretty sure that was scary. For the people that got side swiped, I hope everybody is okay. Like I said, it’s scary,” Clay said.

Police reported that a weapon and evidence from the multiple robberies were found.

Police identified the suspects as 3 teens and 2 adults. At least one of the teens was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

21-year-old Ladarius James was charged with multiple charges such as theft of property, aggravated robbery, and evading arrest.

According to police, James also had multiple warrants including warrants for sexual battery, domestic assault, and robbery.

A 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were charged with multiple offenses including charges of theft of property, aggravated robbery, and evading arrest on foot, police said.

A 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl were released without charges, police said.
