NIGCOMSAT Seals Deal To Provide One Year Internet Service For South African IT Firm

NIGCOMSAT Ltd has signed a deal that will enable it to provide internet service on NigComSat-1R to Dimension Data (Pty) Ltd, an IT and internet solutions service provider with headquarters in South Africa.

NIGCOMSAT said the move is inline with the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, plans to rejig the nation’s economy through digital transformation.

Based on the deal, NIGCOMSAT Ltd will “Provide Dimension Data, with internet Service on NigComSat-1R network platform for a period of one year in the first instance on Ku dedicated band.”

The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officers of NIGCOMSAT, Mrs Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen and the Country Director, representing Dimension Data, Mr. Olugbenga Olabiyi.

Reacting to the deal, Mrs Egerton-Idehen, said the partnership would provide the most excellent services to its clientele having upgraded its facility to cutting-edge technology.

The NIGCOMSAT CEO said the company has become competitive in the global satellite market with the view to taking its rightful position.

“Though we are in the market now, we are not late and l can assure you that we are there for business.

“We just finished a pilot scheme with this client and signed a Master Service Agreement. We are glad that the Country Director, Gbenga Olabiyi and his team were happy with the results of our pilot. We shared all the work we are doing to reposition Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd, ensuring that our service delivery is excellent, our infrastructure reliable and our technology continuous.”
