The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a reconciliation meeting in Enugu yesterday for its Ebonyi State chapter.

It was convened to reconcile all the warring factions to prepare for a peaceful congress.

In a remark at the meeting attended by the national deputy chairman of the party in the Southeast, Ali Odefa, representative of former governor of Ebonyi State, Sam Egwu, among others, the caretaker committee chairman of the party in Ebonyi, Barrister Steve Orurua, noted the role the PDP had played in Nigeria since its inception.

He hoped the stakeholders who attended the meeting would help the party bounce back in Ebonyi State.

Though he acknowledged some acrimony in the party, he expressed hope that the party would triumph in the end when members came together.

Orurua said the PDP in Ebonyi State will survive in unity.

He stated that any state without solid opposition to keep the government on its toes would almost be doomed.

The PDP chieftain maintained that Ebonyi State is a complete PDP state, noting that many people who are holding positions in the state have roots in the PDP.
