Gareth Gates has revealed that he's helping his daughter, Missy, get a record deal as she wants to follow in her famous father's footsteps.
The singer, 39, who is set to go on tour to pay tribute to The Jersey Boys in September, admitted that the youngster, 15, already has her eyes set on fame.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, he said that the aspiring performer is already working relentlessly to perfect her skill and has devoted every night after school to dance class.
After seeing her father shoot to fame as the Pop Idol runner-up in 2002, Missy has followed him around the UK to watch him since she was a baby.
And Gareth mused: 'She's actually following in my footsteps.'
Gareth continued: 'She's got a great voice. She's a great dancer. The more that she gets to be in and around that music world, the more that she learns.
'She dances every night after school. You know, she's kind of going through all of her grades.'
When asked if he would let her partake in vocal competitions like himself, he admitted he would prefer for Missy to write songs and land a deal that way instead.
'I actually would like to try to sit down and write songs with her first and try and get her a record deal that way', he added.
He then revealed that he would love her to join him on tours in the future as he admitted that he thinks he will eventually be 'her backup singer'.
Missy has already been recognised in the industry as she has been approached by The Voice Kids.
The start of her talented journey through the arts comes as Gareth prepares to go to on tour through the UK.
But Gareth revealed that while he would love for Missy to take the route of songwriting and singing he really doesn't know what avenue she will take when she takes that leap into stardom.
Gareth shares Missy with ex-wife Suzanne with the former couple being together for 10 years before their split.
He is currently dating theatre performer Allana Taylor and only went public with the talent last summer.
Gareth will front an all star cast of West End performers as they pay tribute to The Jersey Boys.
He will perform an electrifying vocal homage to the iconic sounds of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
With over five decades dominating the airwaves and a staggering 150 million records sold, the Four Seasons etched themselves into music history.
Gareth is both honoured and excited to be stepping into their shoes in making this tribute come to life.
