On Tuesday night, a determined father is on a mission to help the police find his son's killer.

Raleigh Police report that Ernesto Torres-Torres is the suspect in the stabbing of 32-year-old Aaron Heath, who later died from his injuries. Torres-Torres is still on the run.

Key evidence in the investigation comes from surveillance cameras in the area.

WRAL News met with Kato Muhammad beside the tree where his son suffered the fatal wound.

"This was the last place that my son lived his life," Kato Muhammad, Heath's father, said.

Aaron Heath, 32, was cherished by his family and friends.

"He was just a fun-loving kid, even at 32-years-old, he was a goofy, cool kid," He said.

Now, Muhammad is trying to piece together what happened on Thursday morning, June 20, around 6 a.m.

He says his son got into an argument with someone he knew on Calvary Drive near Capital Boulevard.

Police say the two fought, and then Heath was stabbed. First responders rushed him to the hospital, where he died three days later.

"I would say, 'Squeeze my hand, talk to me, son... look at me, talk to me," Muhammad said.

Attention has now turned to Heath's alleged killer. Detectives identify 37-year-old Torres-Torres as the suspect, and he is currently on the run.

As the investigation continues, we saw Muhammad approaching people near the scene, asking if they knew anything about what happened to his only son.

"It breaks my heart to know this is where my son took his last breath," Muhammad said.

Heath is survived by siblings, grandparents, and nieces and nephews who were all very fond of him.
