Reports have claimed that Chelsea have ‘put money on the table’ for the Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams.

The 21-year-old has banged in seven goals and grabbed 16 assists in 34 appearances for Athletic Bilbao this season across all fronts and is a player that is attracting some of the games biggest clubs.

It is no secret that Enzo Maresca is looking to add some more quality to his attack now that the transfer window is opened up and is keen to bolster his squad with another winger – to help cove injuries etc.

Now According to Spanish publication AS  CHELSEA and Arsenal have put the money on the table, ‘both for the club and for the player.’

It remains to be seen what the outcome is as it is known his preferred club is Barcelona. However, the Spanish giants will need to sell players first before sanctioning a transfer.

Nico Williams has been staring at the Euros after a stunning season in La Liga and it is easy to see why all the big clubs are very interested in trying to get a deal done for the player.

A few seasons ago – Williams would have loved to join Chelsea – but now he would be joining a project that doesnt include Champions League football or much of a chance of winning that Premier League title.

He would be a fantastic signing for CHELSEAthat is for sure guys – but with Arsenal and Barcelona also in the running for the lad – it will be very hard for the Blues to sign one of the most exciting young players in the game.
