Signing up for Apple TV+ isn't easy if you don't own an iPhone, iPad, or Mac because Apple doesn't offer a dedicated app for Android devices. But we'll show you exactly what you must do to access Apple TV+ content on your non-Apple devices.

Sign Up for an Apple TV+ Subscription

First, you need to differentiate Apple TV+ from the Apple TV app. The app is what you install on your iPhone or iPad to watch Apple TV+ content, but you need an Apple TV+ subscription to enjoy it. Since the Apple TV app isn't available on the Play Store, you have to visit the Apple TV+ website to sign up for the service.

If you don't have an Apple ID yet, click Accept Free Trial, and Apple will give you seven days of free access to its service. The website will prompt you to enter your email address to create your Apple ID, but if you already have one, you can just log in and start watching movies and TV shows from your chosen device.

Once the trial period ends, you'll need to shell out $9.99 per month to keep watching your favorite shows and movies. Even if this plan is for one user, I've successfully used my subscription on three devices and watched different movies on them simultaneously.

How to Watch Apple TV+ on Android

Unfortunately, since Apple doesn't offer the Apple TV app for Android devices, you need to use a web browser to enjoy your Apple TV+ subscription. Open your preferred browser, like Google Chrome or Samsung Internet, and head to tv.apple.com.

Once you're on the page, tap Sign In and enter your Apple ID credentials. While the browser experience isn't as seamless as the Apple TV app, it still gives you everything you need—you can fast forward or rewind by ten seconds, turn on captions, change the language, and even share what you're watching via email.

It doesn't matter if you're using an Android smartphone or tablet; as long as you have a relatively recent browser, you should be able to enjoy your Apple TV+ subscription. However, you won't be able to download movies on your device like you can with the dedicated app, so you need an active internet connection to enjoy it.

How to Watch Apple TV+ on a Windows PC

Fortunately, the Apple TV app is available to download on the Microsoft Store, which lets you download movies and TV shows for offline viewing. However, it requires Windows 11, so if your PC doesn't support Windows 11, you'll need to access Apple TV+ via a web browser.

My Windows 11 PC with an Intel Core i7-10870H processor encountered a BSOD when I Iaunched the Apple TV app for the first time. I eventually made it run, but it was unstable and typically crashed after a few minutes. Nevertheless, it's similar to the Apple TV app on my MacBook Air.

If I have a stable internet connection, I'd rather use my browser to enjoy my Apple TV+ subscription and avoid the instability of the app. Just like on Android, I can still access features like captions, language options, and sharing via email. The only downside is that I can't download content for offline consumption.

How to Watch Apple TV+ on a Smart TV

The Apple TV app is available for select smart TVs from Sony, LG, Samsung, etc. You can just search for Apple TV on your smart TV's app store, install it, and then log in with your Apple ID.

Even if you don't have a smart TV, you can access the Apple TV app using Chromecast with Google TV. Apple also offers the Apple TV app for gaming consoles like the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. So, you have several ways to watch Apple TV+ content on your TV.

Once you've downloaded the app, you just need to log in with your Apple ID. You can scan the QR code with your phone to go to the login page or choose Sign In with Remote and enter your Apple ID and password manually to get started.

Apple TV+ is a great subscription service with high-quality originals, including For All Mankind, Masters of the Air, Greyhound, and Tetris. Although offline viewing requires the Apple TV app, you don't need it if you have a stable internet connection at home.

So, even if you don't have an Apple device, like an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV streaming box, you can still enjoy the service on your PC, Android phone, smart TV, or gaming console.
