Malayalam actor Siddique's elder son, Rasheen, succumbed to respiratory failure in Kochi. He was 37.
The Malayalam film industry is in mourning following the death of Rasheen, the elder son of renowned actor Siddique. Rasheen, aged 37, passed away on June 27, 2024, at a private hospital in Kochi after battling severe respiratory issues.
Rasheen had been grappling with health problems for some time, and his condition worsened in recent weeks. Admitted to the hospital with acute breathing difficulties, his situation became critical. He eventually succumbed to respiratory failure. The tragedy has profoundly impacted Siddique, his family, and the entire Malayalam film fraternity.

Rasheen was specially-abled, and was fondly known as Sappy among friends and family. Siddique has a younger son named Shaheen Siddique, who is an actor, known for films Pathemari, Sesham Mike-il Fathima, Shafeekkinte Santhosham, and Sashiyum Sakunthalayum.
Shaheen got married to Amrutha Das last year, and Siddique introduced Rasheen online to followers with many pictures. After the wedding, Shaheen spoke to media about his elder brother. Manoramaonline quoted Shaheen as saying, “Rasheen is the first one to know whatever happens in the family. It makes me extra happy to see how my wife and brother have bonded.” Siddique also has a daughter named Farheen.
The news of Rasheen’s death has led to an outpouring of grief and condolences from fans and colleagues. Malayalam actors Seema G Nair, Fahadh Faasil, Kavya Madhavan, Mala Parvathy, Anoop Chandran and were among many celebrities who expressed their condolences on social media.
The funeral, held at the Juma Masjid in Padamugal, saw family, friends, and well-wishers gather to pay their final respects.
