The University Sports Center of Catania celebrates another important milestone with the promotion of the youth canoe polo team to Serie A1. This success comes on the heels of the senior team’s promotion to Serie A last year. The Cus Catania Under 21 team dominated Group 4 of Serie B, finishing at the top of the standings with 25 points, the result of 8 wins, one draw and only one defeat, which occurred when promotion was already assured.

The achievement of this result is due to the commitment of the technical staff, led by Fabio Sauro, who declared: “The project dedicated to the under, launched three years ago, has borne excellent fruit. The goal now is to keep the senior team in Serie A”. Sauro underlined the importance of the youth project, highlighting how this has been crucial for the growth of Cus Catania. “Today we can say that we have made the right choice with Cus Catania, which can boast two teams in the top Italian leagues”, said Sauro, adding that the Serie A1 championship will help young talents mature more quickly.

The success of Cus Catania is also due to the support provided by the section manager Mario Pandolfo and the president Luigi Mazzone, whose support was fundamental in this journey. The promoted team roster includes Matteo Conte, Marco Lanzafame, Giordano Menghini, Eduardo Narzisi, Francesco Paolo Nicolosi, Alessio Santanna and Orazio Salvatore Torrisi, with Fabio Sauro as coach and Mario Pandolfo as manager.
