But longer term, the boss also has his second chance to re-shape his squad when the transfer window opens.

Several Ibrox stars are out of contract while other may be moved on as the Belgian puts his own stamp on the playing pool this summer.

One of those with a deal expiring has been used regularly by the boss - but he could be the first to go according to reports.

Trabzonspor are already said to have recruited Borna Barisic - but they keen to add his team-mate to the ranks this summer.

The Super Lig side are now said to be targetting Gers midfielder John Lundstram - but Turkish news outlet Gunebakis say they fear they'll be beaten to the Scouser's signature.

It is claimed Premier League hopefuls Ipswich Town have earmarked the ex-Sheffield United middle man for next season as they chase the Championship title - and he has been told he can leave Ibrox.

Kieran McKenna has taken the Tractor Boys - including ex-Gers fringe man George Edmundson - to the brink of promotion and they're locked in a three-way title tussle with Leicester City and Leeds United.

Lundstram has previous in the English Premier League with Sheffield United and is one of six Gers stars approaching the end of their deals.

The likes of Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun all face an uncertain future with the Ibrox boss tight-lipped over extensions.

But it seems unlikely veteran Jon McLaughlin or Croatian international Barisic will be kept on given their own limited involvement under the management team of Clement, Alex Rae and Stephan van der Heyden.

Asked about Lundstram's ongoing contract talks Clement three weeks ago said: " No [developments] otherwise you guys would know.

"I'm totally confident on that because there is a lot of love on both sides so then there will be a solution."

The Gers will also see three loan deals expire in the summer for forwards Oscar Cortes, Abdallah Sima and Fabio Silva.

Between then and now though, the squad faces key matches in the top flight with St Mirren, Dundee, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Hearts.

Rangers currently trail their Old Firm rivals at the top by three points.
