Full Accreditation for Nursing Sciences

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) granted full accreditation to the Nursing Sciences programme. In a letter dated 20th May 2024, addressed to the EKSU Vice Chancellor, the NMCN conveyed its approval. This accreditation is valid for five years, after which the programme will be reassessed.

The letter, signed by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Dr. Faruk Abubakar, stated that the Nursing Sciences programme is “adequate in content and coverage and it is in line with that of the NMCN.” The Council also approved an increase in the university’s annual intake of nursing students from 50 to 100.

Full Accreditation for 42 Other Programmes

In addition to the Nursing Sciences programme, 42 other academic programmes at EKSU have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC). These programmes span various faculties, ensuring that a broad range of disciplines at EKSU meet national standards for quality education.
