Sergio Aguero has said that he prefers another Manchester City player over Kevin De Bruyne.

During his 10-year spell at the Manchester club between 2011 and 2021, the striker made 390 appearances across all competitions, scoring 260 goals along the way.

In addition to that, the Argentine shared the dressing room and the pitch with many different City players throughout his decade at the Etihad Stadium.

Now though, the five-time Premier League winner has shared his thoughts on three figures he played with at City, with one particular player getting a special mention.

In a recent video from The Club, the former City striker was asked who he would start, bench and sell out of De Bruyne, David Silva and Phil Foden.

He said: “Hard. I played with all three, different players.

“Silva has good quality, many assists. Kevin De Bruyne has assists and goals. But I prefer Foden; 23, has 50 Premier League goals and he’s not a striker.

“I think I prefer Foden because he has good assists, goals and the control.

“The dribbling is so crazy. I always say to him, ‘Different gravy!’”

During his time at City, Aguero played in 276 games with Silva, 155 with De Bruyne and 37 with Foden.

Even though the former striker played more games with Silva and De Bruyne, the fact that he said he prefers Foden just goes to show how much he admires the 23-year-old.

Foden has been in hot form this season

This season has seen the Englishman score 24 goals and deliver 11 assists in 49 games across all competitions.

In fact, Foden was recently named the Football Writer’s Association Men’s Player of the Year, which showcases just how impressive he has been this term.

With that in mind and the qualities that Aguero said he admires about the midfielder, we feel that Foden certainly has what it takes to be as good, if not better, than the likes of Silva and De Bruyne have been for the club.
