You Are A Great Prophet

Do you know that you are God’s messenger? Do you even know that you are a great prophet? Yes, you are! In Jeremiah 1:4-5 the Lord God declares, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” This passage is not only referring to the Prophet Jeremiah it is also referring to you. You are indeed a great prophet!

Who then is a prophet? What is the major role of a prophet? Who is a false prophet? What are the qualities of a True prophet? Where can we find true and genuine prophets?

A prophet is a messenger of the Most High God. He is the Mouthpiece of God. A Prophet is also a vessel of the Holy Spirit. He is the channel through which the Holy Spirit communicates with God’s chosen ones. For instance, in Ezekiel 2:2-5 the Prophet Ezekiel narrate his divine encounter “The Spirit entered into me and set me upon my feet; and I heard him speaking to me. And he said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the sons of Israel, to a nation of rebels, who have rebelled against me; they and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day. The people are stubborn: I send you to them; and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord God,’ and whether they hear or refuse to hear They will know that there has been a prophet among them.”

Child of God, you don’t need people’s approval to act as a prophet. Even if they don’t recognize you as a prophet God has already recognized you and sooner of later they will know that there has been a prophet among them and you are the prophet God is referring to. After all, when our Lord Jesus Christ was in the world He was rejected as a Prophet.

In Mark 6:1-6, our Lord Jesus Christ came to his own country; and his disciples followed him. And on the sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue; and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get all this? What is the wisdom given to him? What mighty works are wrought by his hands! Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offence at him.

And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour, except in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.” And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands upon a few sick people and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went about among the villages teaching.

After all said and done, Jesus did not lose anything as a prophet. His acceptance or rejection has nothing to do with His glorification. In fact, the more human beings rejected the more He was accepted by the Most High God. Hence, human rejection attracts Divine acceptance.

Child of God, as a great prophet, you have nothing to worry about. Even the world fails to recognize as a Prophet, remember, God is the One that has the final say! Not even your weakness can stop your prophetic vocation. As the Lord God declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Congratulations! God bless you as you use your prophetic gift!
