ANIFS Holds 5th Annual Conference, July 9 – 11

The 5th Annual Conference of the Association of Nigerian Fisheries Scientists (ANIFS) will hold from Tuesday, July 9 to Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Julius Berger Hall, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka.

The Conference theme is: Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture Production for Enhancing Livelihood in Nigeria Economic Development, and the sub-themes are:

 Algae and Seaweed Production Technology
 Coastal and Marine Resources Management
 Gender Issues in Fisheries and Aquaculture
 Innovation and Technologies of Aquaculture Production System (Aquaponic, Recirculating Aquaculture Engineering Stock Enhancement and Cage Culture, integrated Aquaculture/IMTA etc.).
 Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity Benefits
 Fish Nutrition, Health, Disease, Genetics, Husbandry and Environment
 Fisheries, Economics, Marketing, Promotion, Trade, Policy and Regulations
 Emerging issues in Aquatic Pollution and Toxicology
 Populated Dynamics and Environmental issues
 Fish Hatchery Technology, Seed Production and Management
 Climate Change Impacts, Mitigation and Adaptation
 Open Ocean and Blue Economy

The three-day event will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions by academic and industry experts. Members of the university community are encouraged to come out en masse to gain networking opportunities and knowledge which ANIFS Conference 5.0 promises to deliver.
