The town is fourth on the list

With the summer now in full swing, holidaymakers will be planning those much-needed breaks.

New Brighton has recently been named as one of the UK's top holiday entertainment destinations, according to research by OLBG. Three-quarters of Brits plan to holiday in the UK this year and with the peak holiday season right around the corner, the top ten best seaside locations for an entertainment-filled staycation have now been revealed.

The Online Betting Guide created the ‘Holiday Entertainment Index’ to explore the best destinations to visit this summer. This index uses the number of activities of each location including amusements, restaurants, pubs, beach reviews, the cost to stay there and more. This data is collected from travel sites such as Tripadvisor, Google, and Kayak.

New Brighton is fourth on the list, with its impressive seaside views and amusements. Across the UK, many seaside towns are known for their attractions such as arcades and fun fairs, as well as slots entertainment.

The seaside town, only a short drive from Liverpool city centre, boasts some spectacular sea views complimented by the many amusements, shops and restaurants along the Marine Promenade.

From the classic claw machines to the many slots available, there's something for every age. Next door to The Bright Spot arcade is a Rock Shop selling a range of rock candy, fudge and old-fashioned sweets. There is also Adventureland and Riverside Bowl.

Victoria Road, once a quiet, boarded up street in New Brighton, has been transformed with the arrival of independent businesses, quirky street art and more. Rockpoint Leisure helped to turn the town’s Victorian Quarter into a hive of activity.

Tenby topped the list as the best seaside town for holiday entertainment. St Ives ranks second, mainly due to its "excellent weather".

Steve Madgwick, Editor-In-Chief at OLBG.com, said: "The Great British Summer is finally here, and although the weather isn’t always destined to deliver the perfect UK getaway, many of the best seaside towns across our shores are jam-packed with indoor and outdoor entertainment - from arcades to pubs, and more.”
