I and my sister have been saving money in the same piggy bank ( box) target was 5k every Sunday. We have done this for a year and six months. Because our parents did not build a house so we plan on saving money to build a house for ourselves. We have already bought a land and was set on starting building on it. Just this year my sister met a guy and they started dating. She is my senior and I respect her so much even when my business flows more than her own.

She told me her man is not in support of what we are saving for. I told her if she is not doing again we open the box and share the money equally. Another day, she told me her man said if she can lend him some money from her savings, I knew the time has come for me to ask for my own share of the money.

Days later she came home crying that her man is critically ill. That he has called his doctor and the doctor said it’s not going to be easy that it’s something of 500k be deposited before he will even ask her to bring him to his clinic. I kept asking my sister what the sickness is, she  said the doctor said tests has to carried out for him to be very sure, but that he suspects a very serious illness. Just like that her boyfriend stopped talking and started drooling. He kept falling off his bed and his mom was seriously crying. The funny thing was that I wasn’t moved, all I saw was that they want to defraud my sister and I

That night my sister talked me into lending her my money and even lend another on top. I don’t have strength for long talk after all they say respect your elders. I agreed on whatever she said that night.

As early as possible in the morning, I locked her inside the house and informed our Landlady and landlord about what is happening. They supported me. Food and everything is inside the house. I went to my shop to eat. I also took her phone so there was no line of communication between her and her boyfriend or anyone from his side. My landlady made sure the gate was locked and I was calling her to know of any development.

Around 10am the guy called my sister’s phone and it was his mother. She said my daughter where are you? We have been waiting for you, please don’t allow your husband to diie. I told her mama your son will not diie in Jesus name. She didn’t say amen, rather she said please come with the money so we take him to his friends clinic. I ended the call. An hour later , a strange number called my sister and said he’s the doctor she met yesterday. And was pleading with my sister to save her man’s life come what may.

I locked my sister inside the house for two days. She didn’t see sunshine. She only speak to me through the window, she was angry and said many things to annoy me I wasn’t because she was controlled by st*upiid love. The second day, someone in our compound said he saw my sister’s boyfriend in their bar. I doubted. Because somehow my mind was could it be a real sickness?

Then in the evening before I opened the door for my sister, the mumu man came. He was reigning all sorts of insults to my sister and I. He said he was sick to the point of dead all my sis did was to run away from him. That was when my neighbor came out to say, he was right he saw him in their bar. How come he was in a bar if he was truly sick?

My sister warned him never to set his foot in our house again. Janet so all my efforts would have been in vain?  My sis is so grateful. We can now continue with our plans.

There was no other option, she wouldn’t have listened.
