A stay-at-home mum says staying 'put together' during motherhood makes her happy as she loves looking 'hot' for her husband. The glam parent says she'll 'never put herself on the back burner'

A glamorous mum who applied false nails while in labour says prioriting her appearance helps her in parenthood.

As well as being one of the most special times of a woman's life, having a baby can be exhausting as the intense demands of childcare take their toll both physically and mentally. Normal routines are thrown out of the window as everything is focused on what the child needs and new parents can find they just don't have time for themselves anymore.

But one self confessed "vain" mum wasn't going to let that happen to her and was determined to stay looking her glamorous best self after having her daughter.

Hope James Fifield, from Kentucky USA, loves to look good and ensures she dedicates plenty of time and cash to it, spending £120 per month on Pilates lessons, £32 on her gym membership and £240 on clothes. She explains: "I've always been vain and that wasn't going to change when I became a mum.

"I did consider having full makeup when in labour but I didn't like the idea of mascara running down my face so I settled on false nails that I applied whilst in hospital. Even now, I always have my nails and fake tan done because I always like to feel put together. I'll never put myself on the back burner."

Hope, 28, met husband Carter, 27, when they were at school and they got married in 2020. It was then that she decided to give up her job as a preschool teacher to be a stay at home "trophy wife".

"Since I was little, I've wanted to be a trophy wife and I want to look like a bombshell," Hope says. "I love looking hot and being on Cater's arm whilst he shows me off to his work colleagues.

"I'm very traditional in that I appreciate the man being the breadwinner and that wives should look good for their husbands. I was adamant that this wouldn't change when we started a family."

Hope was true to her word and when she fell pregnant in 2022, the couple took a babymoon to Nashville, Tennessee, where she had a '"glammed up and bronzed" photoshoot done.

Carter, who works in technology, bought Hope a £2,000 Chanel diaper bag as a push present and a £42 bottle of 818 tequila. "I told Carter exactly what I wanted as a push present and of course he delivered," she says.

After little Mariposa, who is named after a Barbie butterfly fairy, came along, Hope, who says her daughter is "an addition to my life, not my whole life," knew she didn't want any more children.

"It was my dream to have a little girl and I knew I wanted to call her a magical name. Being Mariposa's mum is amazing but I am one and done, I won't have any more children. Every mum is different but I chose to bring my baby into my life. She's been a dream and is so well-behaved."

Hope still manages to maintain her "great hair", work out and get a weekly fake tan and her nails done. She's looking forward to the day she can teach her little girl about clothes and make up, although she wouldn't force her to follow in her footsteps.

"I like to look nice for myself, and my husband and set a good example for my daughter," she says. "I'd never push her to be a trophy wife too when she's older, I want her to be whatever she wants to be.

"I may be a trophy wife but I got the perfect husband. We share the housework and Carter will do whatever I don't have the time or energy to do. We're best friends and he doesn't care what I look like, only that I'm happy- and that's when I'm tan and glam."
