Mikel Arteta and co are still dreaming of winning the Premier League as they proved their title credentials again on Sunday.

The Gunners extended their lead at the summit of the table as they initially ran riot in the backyard of their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Any signs of nerves were quickly extinguished as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg turned the ball into his own net early on to make it 1-0.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz got in on the act before half-time as the game appeared over and done with. However, Spurs made a late fist of things as Cristian Romero capitalised on a David Raya mistake and Son Heung-min scored from the spot to make it 3-2. But Mikel Arteta side hung on for all three points as attention turns to their title rivals Manchester City. Daily Star Sport looks at four things Arteta got right from the clash

Set-piece glory

A lot has been said about the Gunners at set-pieces this season, but Arteta's side put on an exhibition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Ben White was at the centre of proceedings, the full-back would push himself right up against Spurs' shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario - and bullying the keeper as Arsenal's towering defenders all rushed to the near post. Bukayo Saka's corner was met by Hojbjerg - who was the wrong side of his man.

Their third goal came from the opposite side but the tactics remained the same. This time it was Kai Havertz who was first to the ball - powering it into the back of the net.

Arsenal have been phenomenal defensively this season, largely thanks to their imperious centre-back partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel. On Sunday it was no different.

The Gunners held firm as Spurs brought an onslaught of attacks at them during the first-half, only quelling the threat when Havertz nodded home Arsenal's third. Arteta's side had seemingly built the Great Wall of North London as Spurs started to run out of ideas.

That was until David Raya sprayed his pass right into the direction of an onrushing Cristian Romero, who rolled the ball past the Spanish shot stopper. Even Spurs' second could be put down to individual error.

Keeping their cool

There was a short spell, around the hour mark, when Spurs' frustrations started to boil over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Romero was on a war path, with Gary Neville picking up on commentary that the Argentine was looking for a rise from one of the Arsenal players. However, with their side comfortably ahead, the Gunners showed maturity as they let the referee do his job.

Arsenal soon faced another type of mental challenge as Spurs' frustrations slowed following Romero's strike in the 64th minute.

Taking the sting out of the game

After Romero found the net, the white side of north London was in a state of fever pitch. The Spurs faithful were cheering every touch from their stars.

Arsenal were able to deal with pressure by taking the sting out of the game - taking time on set-pieces, winning small fouls and making easy passes. It was textbook from the Gunners. Twenty minutes later there was a lapse of concentration from Declan Rice, allowing Son Heung-min to score from the spot.

The Gunners then had to do the same, and they did so brilliantly, even with Spurs starting to turn on the style in added time.
