Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the marital history of actress Sharon Ooja’s husband, Ugo Nwoke. Contrary to rumors that Nwoke had been married three times before, Pere shared that a cousin of Nwoke confirmed he was only married once.

Pere responded to a viral video featuring a woman claiming to be a family friend of Nwoke. In the video, the woman asserted that Nwoke had only one previous marriage. Pere, reposting the video on his X handle, stated that Nwoke’s cousin, who is also a close friend of his, corroborated this information.

Pere expressed his frustration with blogs spreading unfounded rumors without verifying their authenticity. He emphasized that there’s nothing wrong with a divorcee remarrying and criticized the tendency of some media outlets to focus on negative stories.

He wrote, “Her husband’s cousin is my really good friend in Dallas. It’s funny how people read things and because they are gullible they believe it. And how are blogs just so focused on negative things to just carry any kind of story amazes me. They don’t care about the authenticity, they just carry it.

“Her husband’s cousin confirmed the same thing to me. Married once. And there’s nothing wrong with being married once.”

This statement comes in response to rumors sparked by the blog StellaDimokorkus, which claimed that Nwoke had been married three times before his recent wedding to Ooja. The blog alleged that all of Nwoke’s previous marriages had failed.

The clarification from Pere, supported by Nwoke’s cousin, seeks to put these rumors to rest and emphasize the importance of verifying information before spreading it.
